    Mental illness did not kill our sister. Years of abuse and neglect killed her. Our sister took her own life because she could not escape the scars left behind from enduring years of horrible things no person should endure. Rachel’s death was preventable. But not through mental health means. Many could have prevented it from a happening if they had stepped in to help a child in need. We are sad we have lost our sister. We lost our sister to demons from years of preventable abuse. Not to mental illness. If you can help prevent this from happening to anyone again, help a child in need before it’s too late. Don’t turn a blind eye just because helping would be too hard. Help those in need before it’s too late.
